Hi Lloyd,

I don't have no knowledge of Nile Steamers that run from Juba to Malakal. You may want to check out Lonely Planet chats to see of others who have recently travelled that route. I did not hear of any steamer gong along the Nile in the south but nor was I looking. You may consider looking into hitching a ride with aid delivery barges that may be travelling along the Nile from Juba, but this may only be possible once you've arrived in Juba itself and begin to make connections. Good luck!

I am keen to transit the Sud by boat from Juba to Malakal and beyond on the Nile route followed by the old Nile steamers. Can you tell me if the steamers still operate, or any other water transport. Any information or contacts appreciated. Thanks, Lloyd.
