Hello Angela,

Juba is about 150-200 kms north of the Ugandan border. I tried to find Jinga on google maps but only found Jinja, Uganda. If this is the place then it is located in Kampala area, the capital of Uganda, is even further from Juba. see map: (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=Jinja,+Uganda&sll=1.526919,33.442383&sspn=6.410394,11.590576&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=FQ2uBgAdh6P6AQ&split=0&hq=&hnear=Jinja,+Uganda&ll=2.569939,32.893066&spn=6.40623,11.590576&z=7)

Although the situation is tenuous in Southern Sudan with the upcoming elections in April 2010, you need not be concerned for your safety near Kampala in relation to the situation in Sudan.

I would be interested in hearing about the trip to the local school during your visit or after your return home. I am downloading the program Unreported World : Sudan. thanks for the tip.

all the best.

After watching a terrible programme on Unreported Sudan the other evening, featuring Juba, where the Salisbury Diocese has a link together with our local school, I was wondering how far Juba is away from the border of Uganda?

We are going out to Jinga Uganda with a team in February and wondered how far the near war situation is away?
